What is a KEY EMPLOYEE INTERVIEW?
If you are a smaller business, you may not have the skill sets to know how to accurately determine how a perspective key employee is screwed and glued together. You may not have the time or inclination to check into a key employee's background. In today's dollars, it will cost you $30,000 or much more to bring that person up to speed. You cannot afford the to waste either time or money. Bob was reminded of an assignment to interview high-level prospects in a key position as director of an art gallery. First-tier references were wonderful (aren't they all)! Second-tier reference interviews turned over some stones. Third-tier checks uncovered fraudulent activity. Can you afford this type of person as your CFO or director of sales? I don't think so!
